Files must be uploaded into the public_html directory in order to be viewed on the internet.
Your home page should be named index.html, index.htm, index.shtml, etc.
Please refer to your welcome email for more specifics. If you need this resent
please go to the contact page and request it.
If you use something other than index.html as your home page, you will need to delete the
placeholder index.html file that is in your public_html directory.
The files that make up your website (HTML pages, graphics, etc.) are uploaded to your hosting account
via FTP (File Transfer Protocol). Many modern website-building applications have FTP file transfer
capability built in; Macromedia Dreamweaver and Adobe GoLive are two examples. If you don't have
FTP capability included with your website-building software, you will need a FTP application.
We recommend are CuteFTP, WS_FTP and ftpVoyager.
What happens if I exceed my allotted disk space?
Typically this is not a problem for our customers because of the ample amount of disk space
that is allotted to each plan. If you need additional disk space, you may upgrade your account
to the next level for a very nominal charge.
What happens if I exceed my allotted data transfer amount?
This is also very rare. The vast majority of the sites we host use only a fraction of their allotment.
You will be able to monitor your usage in your control panel. Additional bandwidth costs $2 per
gig or you may choose to upgrade your account to the next level.
